Noted and illustrated in the EKMD [https://www.ekmd.de/aktuell/projekte-und-aktionen/wasser-des-lebens-ekm-sommerserie-2023/#gallery-119] [accessed 15 January 2024] as a baptismal font of 1649. The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoffnungskirche_(Oberweißbach)] [accessed 15 January 2024] mentions a baptismal font of 1649 saved from the old church is located in the middle of the front row of pews ["In der Mitte der ersten Bankreihe steht ein Taufstein aus dem Jahr 1649, der aus der alten Kirche gerettet wurde"]. The baptismal font consists of an octagonal basin with a tall tapeing underbowl, raised on a round moulded pedestal base; the sides of the basin below the upper rim bear an inscription in German [Matthew 28:19(?)] with the date 1649. No cover present; the font uses a baptismal dish on a wooden support frame atop the stone basin.
