The entry for this church in the Nordfriisk Instituut [https://www.nordfriiskfutuur.eu/nordfrieslandlexikon/sankt-johannis-hooge/] [accessed 14 January 2024] informs that the font and pews were made in 1624 by master Heinrich Ringering, of Flensburg ["Taufbecken sowie Gestühlwangen aus dem Jahr 1624 und eine Kanzel aus der Werkstatt des Meisters Heinrich Ringerink (1565/70–1629) aus Flensburg"]. Noted and illustrated in Hallig Urlaub auf Hooge [http://www.cuxhaven-neuwerk.de/hallig-hooge/st-johannis-kirche-hooge/st-johannis-kirche-hooge.html] [accessed 14 January 2024] as a noteworthy baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin on a flat square platform resting on a baluster-shaped shaft in the centre, and statues of the Four Evangelists in the corners; the whole is painted in bright colours, the basin sides bearing two lines of inscriptions ["Bemerkenswert ist auch das schöne Taufbecken, ein Geschenk der Grafen von Schwerin und Schulenburg. Das Becken wird dabei von den 4 Evangelisten Markus, Lukas, Matthäus und natürlich auch Johannes getragen"]. No font cover present but a baptismal dish of brass is in place.
