Drake (2002) mentions a group sandstone font in Westphalia, "in the area south and slightly east of Bremen", which includes the fonts at Achim, Heiligenfelde, Riede and Verden cathedral, as well. A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 20 June 2023) suggests that the group can be expanded to include the fonts of Kirchtimke, Stolzenau and Leese. The entry for this church in the Kirchengemeindelexikon 1800 Geschichten [https://kirchengemeindelexikon.de/einzelgemeinde/leese/] [accessed 10 January 2024] reports and illustrates a Romanesque (12th/13th century) baptismal font (12th/13th century) consisting of a round basin on a base od a broad central shaft and four attached colonnettes with moulded bases and a square lower base; the basin is decorated with a vine all around the upper sides; it is believed to have served as pulpit support since the 18th century; when the old church was demolished it was relegated to the church yard/garden; it was restored to the present church in 1925 ["Romanischer Taufstein (12./13. Jh.), rundes Becken, Säulenschaft mit vier vorgestellten Säulchen, viereckige Bodenplatte, am Beckenrand Blattfries; diente wohl seit dem 18. Jh als Kanzelstütze, seit Abbruch der alten Kirche im Pfarrgarten, seit 1925 wieder in der Kirche"]. The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirche_Leese] [accessed 10 January 2024] reports a baptismal font made os sandstone in the late-13th century ["Ein Taufbecken aus Sandstein, dessen Fuß einem kantonierter Pfeiler gleicht, stammt aus dem dritten Drittel des 13. Jahrhunderts"].
