Baptismal font consisting of a bucket-shaped 13th-century basin bearing four human heads set at 90-degree angles, raised on a ca.1900 replacement base, listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10012966] [accessed 8 January 2024]: "fonts baptismaux [...] Date: 1201 (ca) - 1300 (ca) [...] cuve ornée de quatre têtes sculptés [...] hauteur: 45 cm mesure de la cuve uniquement [...] pied ca 1900"; a low-dome metal cover with Latin cross finial is shown, but not mentioned in the entry; presumably modern. The entry for this church in the Belgian Wikipedia [https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortil] [accessed 8 January 2024] mentions a beautiful 13th-century baptismal font in it ["très beaux fonts baptismaux sculptés au XIIIe siècle"]. The font is mentioned in Promenade à la découverte de Cortil - Juillet 2020 [https://chastre.ecolo.be/wp-content/uploads/sites/58/2020/07/2020-07_Promenades_3-Cortil.pdf] [accessed 8 January 2024] with a comment by one of the authorities in the Musées royaux d'Art et d'Histoire which questions the accepted 13th-century dating of the basin: "Son mobilier comprend des fonts baptismaux en pierre calcaire dont la cuve est d’allure 13e s., mais pour lesquels, en 1956, le conservateur en chef des Musées royaux d'Art et d'Histoire voyait plutôt de l’archaïsme et une réalisation fruste plus tardive".
[NB: the font in the nearby Eglise Saint-Pierre de Noirmont [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10012980] [accessed 8 January 2024] is, like the church itself, 18th-century, therefore outside the BSI scope]
