Sarah Fetzer's Vom individuellen Gedächtnis zur repräsentativen Kulturgeschichte. Objektbedeutungen und Narrative in den Sammlungskonzeptionen des Hans von Aufseß vor 1857 [https://edoc.hu-berlin.de/bitstream/handle/18452/24597/03_Fetzer.pdf?sequence=1] [accessed 1 January 2024] notes and illustrates a baptismal font of the 16th century in the Ritterkapelle in the Schloss Unteraufseß, originally(?) from the castle chapel at Wüstenstein ; the font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin with round arch-heads in which are anumber of worthies from Aufseß bearing shields charged with their coats or arms ["aus dem 16. Jahrhundert stammenden taufstein [...] aus der Schlosskirche in Wüstenstein – einem ehemaligen Familienstammsitz – zu überführen, den der Freiherr dort im Dezember 1835 entdeckt hatte.[...] Das Rundbecken zeigt auf den Außenseiten acht Aufseß’sche Ritter als Hochrelief, darunter Hans Valentin von Aufseß zu Wüstenstein (vor 1540–1592"]; the basin stands on a cylindrical pedestal base and a round moulded lower base, near the altar of the chapel.
