Church Notes: church documented 1130-1131; abandoned in favour of a new more accessible church built in 1853, re-using some of the stones from the old church; only the tour remains from the old church now;
Noted in Brassine (1937) as a baptismal font totally re-carved by an over-zealous local mason who had been tasked byt the parish priest to give it just a superficial re-tooling ["Les fonds [sic] baptismaux en pierre bleue sont du XIVème siècle, mais ils ont été fort remaniés vers 1930. Le curé avait confié à un tailleur de pierre local le soin d’apporter à la cuve une très légère restauration. Lorsqu’il revint après une absence de quelques heures, il eut la stupeur de constater que l’ouvrier, persuadé de faire merveille, avait complètement retaillé les fonts"]. Listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10003747] [accessed 30 December 2023]: "fonts baptismaux [...] Date: 1401 (ca) - 1500 (ca) [...] retaillés vers 1930". [NB: it is not clear from the sources how much of the orignal font remains; perhaps just the re-carved basin?]
