Baptismal font dated probably to 1542 and originally from the earlier church here is described and illustrated in Kulturium [https://www.kulturium.de/index.php?NavID=2364.9&loc=Werder&object=7|2364.2902.1] [accessed 28 December 2023] ["Der steinerne achteckige Taufstein, datiert wohl um 1542, gehört mit einer Glocke im Kirchturm aus dem Jahre 1481 zu den ältesten erhaltenen Inventarstücken der alten Kapelle"]; this source further notes that at one point the font was replaced by a baptismal angel which is still present today in the church, near the altar ["Ersetzt wurde der Taufstein zwischenzeitlich durch einen Taufengel, der heute ebenfalls im Altarraum hängt"]. The entry for this church in the Kirchengemeindelexikon 1800 Geschichten [https://kirchengemeindelexikon.de/einzelgemeinde/werder/] [accessed 28 December 2023] describes an octagonal baptismal font made of sandstone in the 16th century, decorated with four coats of arms; it was located in the school teacher's garden in 1910; the baptismal angel hanging by the altar was restored in the 1950s ["Taufe aus Sandstein (16. Jh.), Becherform, achtseitig, geschmückt mit vier Wappenschilden, befand sich 1910 im „Garten des Schullehrers“.35 – Ehemaliger Taufengel (vermutlich 18. Jh., wegen der „provinziellen Ausführung des Werkes“ ist Schnitzer „im heimischen Raum“ zu suchen“), hängt im Altarraum, hält ein Spruchband „Wer da glaubet und getauft wird, der wird selig werden“ (in den 1950er Jahren restauriert: fehlende Arme ergänzt, Flügel wieder angebracht, ursprüngliche Farbfassung wiederhergestellt)"]. The baptismal angel is probably from the date of the re-building of this church, 1759; it was restored with new arms and wings in 1957, but the baptismal dish that the angel held in its arms has been lost
