Première hauteur : pied (sans couvercle), [...] pied récent dans le style du XVIe siècle." The entry for this church in Open Churches [https://openchurches.eu/fr/edifices/saint-andre-lierneux] [accessed 27 December 2023] notes: "Les fonts baptismaux, qui remontent au 16e siècle, nous rappellent que l'implantation de l'église remonte à une époque ancienne. Ils sont en pierre bleue sculptée et ciselée. On y reconnaît l'effigie des quatre fleuves du Paradis, ainsi que plusieurs visages en faible relief, d'une facture fort naïve." The old basin has been restored and placed on a modern replacement pedestal base; the basin is octagonal with four protruding hatted human heads set at 90-degree angles; the four panels between the heads are decorated with shallow carved faces or masks; the underbowl shows convex ribbs all around; raised on an octagonal-to-square modern replacement base. Roun metal cover; appears modern.
