The entry for this church in the Paroisse Beloeil Bernissart [http://www.up-belber.be/Grandglise.html] [accessed 27 December 2023] reports a hexagonal stone font of the 16th century in it ["cuve hexagonale en pierre des fonts baptismaux (16e s.)"]. The font is listed and illustrated in [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10052781] [accessed 27 December 2023]: "fonts baptismaux [...] cuve [XVIe] [Date: 1501 - 1600], pied et fût [m.XXe] [...] hauteur: 114 cm". The ca. 1900 brass cover is also listed separately [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10052782] [accessed 27 December 2023]: "Date: 1900 (ca) - 1900 (ca) [...] hauteur: 47 cm".
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (25 April 2023) informs: "L’église Saint-Martin (1854), édifice néo-gothique, entièrement réalisée en grès de Grandglise, est précédée d’une double rangée de peupliers centenaires. Elle remplace la chapelle plus ancienne, voir image en annexe. A l’intérieur la cuve hexagonale en pierre des fonts baptismaux (16è s.). Il existe très peu de renseignements sur l'histoire de Grandglise, d'autant plus que cette paroisse fut longtemps dépendance de Stambruges et d'Harchies, donc l'histoire se confond avec ces paroisses-mères. En 1790, Grandglise devient paroisse, distincte de Harchies et le premier curé s'y installe. C'est l'abbé Ruelle (1790 à 1795). Cette paroisse reste cependant dépendante du diocèse de Cambray et du doyenné de Chièvres. En 1802 : tout le Hainaut (département de Jemappes) quitte l'archevêché de Cambrai et passe à l'évêché de Tournai, lequel est soumis à l'archevêché de Malines. Les habitants de Grandglise obtinrent une paroisse autonome en 1803."
