Baptismal font listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10036285] [accessed 26 December 2023]: "fonts baptismaux [...] Date: 1491 - 1600 [...] hauteur: 101 cm"; the entry mentions a font cover of copper "Date: 1941 - 1960". The village description and historical article of 2018 [http://www.valleedelahaine.be/wp/gottignies/] [accessed 26 December 2023] includes "Une réflexion sur 'Gottignies'" by Pol Herman (24/04/2023): "L’église actuelle fût bâtie en 1719. Mais les fonts baptismaux sont plus vieux." A communication to BSI by Pol Herman (e-mail of 25 April 2023) notes: "Rather unusual combination of polished (marble-like) and unpolished Hainaut-limestone on this 16th century font. https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10036285. To me, it looks like the font could be a century older. Found no information on the older church building."
