Baptismal font listed and illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10094248] [accessed 26 December 2023]: "fonts baptismaux [...] gothique, néo-gothique [...] Date: 1501 - 1600 [...] hauteur: 109 cm" [presumably the date in the listing refers to the basin only, as the base is obviously a modern replacement]. The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with four human heads at 90-degree angles, and a plain curved underbowl; raised on a pedestal base made of clustered colonnettes and a plain octagonal lower base; as noted above, only the basin is original. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat [modern]. The same source [cf. supra] lists a wall-mounted holy-water stoup of the 18th century. The entry for this church in the Belgian Wikipedia [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Lambertuskerk_(Wonck)] [accessed 26 December 2023] notes the basin of a 12th century Romanesque baptismal font in it ["Het bekken van het doopvont is romaans (12e eeuw)."
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 21 April 2023) notes: "The late-romanesque/early-gothic, octagonal, limestone, Mosan basin carries 4 big, roughly chiselled heads with strong chin. Similar to the fonts at the castle of Heeswijk-Dinther, at the church of Hoeselt, at the castle of Zoelen (and others ?). The profile at the top of the basin is already gothic, as is the still primitive octagonal form. I would estimate early 14th century ? [cf. KIK-IRPA dating above]. The neo-gothic base has been added around 1945. No information found on the history of the font on Internet. Nor of the church. The tower is the only remnant of the Romanesque church dated approximately 1175."
