The entry for this church in Région Pays de la Loire - Inventaire général [https://gertrude.paysdelaloire.fr/dossier/IM72001615] [accessed 18 December 2023] notes a baptismal font /holy-water stoup [cf. infra]of the late-13th or 14th century in it ["L'église Saint-Martin de Chenu conserve des fonts baptismaux datant de la seconde moitié du XIIIe ou du XIVe siècle"]. The full dossier in the same source [https://gertrude.paysdelaloire.fr/dossier/IM72001606] [accessed 18 December 2023] expands on the description noting also a copper insert of the 17th or 18th century ["Les fonts sont en calcaire peint en blanc et se composent de trois éléments monolithes posés l'un sur l'autre : une cuve octogonale sur un pied octogonal reposant lui-même sur une base carrée à chanfreins. La cuve présente un décor en relief semi -méplat dans la masse. La cuve est munie d'une cuvette en cuivre [...] Les huit faces de la cuve, groupées par deux, présentent quatre décors légèrement différents où s'alternent des masques grimaçants, placés une fois au milieu de la face et trois fois dans les angles, et des rinceaux stylisés. La frise est délimitée par le motif de la corde qui cerne la cuve en bas et en haut [...] mauvais état [...] La pierre est usée et porte les traces de nombreux petits impacts. La cuvette a été ajoutée. Elle est oxydée"]. The object is listed as a 12th-century holy-water stoup in Palissy [ref.: PM72000140]: "Bénitier [...] Octogone, sculpté sur cinq de ses faces [...] 12e siècle [...] H = 60 ; la = 90 [...] Anciennement daté du 11e siècle ou du 12e siècle"].
