The church, formerly parochial but now serving as cemetery chapel, is noted and illustrated in Bourgogne romane [http://www.bourgogneromane.com/edifices/villerslafaye.htm] [accessed 28 November 2023]: "Ancienne église paroissiale située sur le Mont Saint Victor, dépourvue de sa nef, conservant sa travée de chœur en berceau et son abside décorée de bandes lombardes." In the grounds near the chapel is n octagonal basin of stone semi-buried up to the rim; it is octagonal in the exterior and round in the interior, and has the indentation characteristic to accept a round cover; also related to a cover is a large damaged section, typically caused by a metal anchring splitting the stone. The vessel is now full of water [bird bath?], leaves, etc., but may very well have been the baptismal font in use in the former parish church, now serving as funeral chapel; the building lost its nave and west end.
