Listed in Palissy [ref.: IM10012379]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] Cuve baptismale à infusion [...] Les fonts baptismaux se composent de trois blocs différents : le premier pour une semelle carrée, le second pour le pied décoré de quatre pans coupés (griffes), et le dernier pour la cuve. La cuve octogonale est fermée par un couvercle en bois. [...] Les quatre angles de la semelle sont décorées de têtes animales en ronde-bosse. [...] 12e siècle (?) ; 16e siècle [...] Le socle est plus ancien que la cuve : il peut être daté du 12e siècle [...] H = 89,5 ; la = 70 (Largeur de la cuve. Le pied est large de 66 cm) [...] La cuve est cassée horizontalement, à mi-hauteur sur ses faces nord et ouest. L'un des deux crochets métalliques permettant la fermeture du couvercle, rouillé, a fait éclater la pierre." Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: OA010_031027767]. The font consists of an octagonal basin with tall chamfered underbowl; plain; on an octagonal-to-square stem. otherwise plain; on a round-to-square lower base, moulded, and with animal heads set at 90-degree angles. The present cover in use is octagonal, flat and plain, with metal cross-bar lock. As indicated in the Palissy entry [cf. supra] one of the metal anchorings of a former cover has split the stone at the upper rim of the basin.
