The entry for this church in the Kirchengemeindelexikon, 1800 Geschichten [https://kirchengemeindelexikon.de/einzelgemeinde/gross-munzel/] [accessed 22 November 2023] describes a baptismal font of the 15th/16th century, consisting of a basin round at the top, octagonal at the bottom, decorated with vines; stands on a modern replacement base; it was probably used as a cow trough and flower pot for a time until it was restored to the church in 1933; the baptismal dish Insert was made in 1951 by Werner Gabel, Wuppertal-Barmen ["Taufstein (15./16. Jh.), Becken oben rund, unten achteckig, mit Weinranken verziert; Sockel neu, zwischenzeitlich wohl als Kuhtränke und Blumentopf genutzt; seit 1933 wieder in der Kirche; Einsatz und Taufschale 1951 (Werner Gabel, Wuppertal-Barmen)"]. Jahrhundert soll mündlicher Überlieferung nach bereits als Kuhtränke auf einer Holtenser Weide, als Blumentopf im Wunstorf-Kolenfelder Pfarrgarten gedient haben, bevor er wieder seinen ursprünglichen Platz in der Kirche fand"].
