The font at Vitten is listed and illustrated in Mackeprang 's broad grouping of De østjydske løvefonte, in a subsection which he labels as "fire profilløver". The entry for this church in Danmarks Kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/Aarhus_1787-1798.pdf] [accessed 18 November 2023] with reference to Mackeprang's listing above; a baptismal font of rather coarse grey-reddish granite, the colouring uneven between the two blocks, basin (68 cm in diameter) and base; the pairs of lions are also uneven, one pair facing each other, the other away; two protruding human heads; other decorations include plants and a boar on its back; the font has been moved inside the church; the DK entry gives its last location in the chancel, just inside the arch ["Døbefont [...], romansk, af ret grov-kornet grå-rødlig granit, kummen, 68 cm i tvm., dog lidt mere grålig end foden.
Noted and illustrated in Søren Kaspersen's Jyske fonte med modstillede løver.[1] Et præliminært studie, 17.8.2016 klo 23.15 | Tieteelliset artikkelit | TAHITI 04/2016 [https://tahiti.journal.fi/article/view/85640/44590] [accessed 16 November 2023].
