Church Notes: Castle chapel served as parochial since the 11thC; later moved to the site of the Cluny priory of Saint-Hilaire continuing in its parochial role; expanded 15thC; restored and modified 17th and 18thC; services suspended during the Revolution, becoming 'Temple de l’Etre Suprême de Belle Roche'; services resumed thereafter -- the dedication of the church appears occasionally as Saint Romain
Baptismal font listed in Palissy [ref.: PM21002028]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] calcaire [...] Cuve à cavité circulaire reposant sur la base d'une colonne [...] 16e siècle [...] H = 93 ; d = 136".
