The entry for this church in Katholische im Bröltal [https://www.katholisch-im-broeltal.de/gotteshaeuser/ruppichteroth.html] [accessed 31 October 2023] reports a Romanesque baptismal font made of trachyte in the 12th century in this church ["romanische Taufstein aus Trachyt aus dem 12. Jahrhundert"]; it gives Hans-Peter Hohn's Jahrbuch des Rhein-Sieg-Kreises (2009) as source [NB: the font noted and illustrated in these sources is not Romanesque; it is probably the font introduced when the church was modified in the late-Gothic period]. A June 8, 2019 article in the same source [https://www.katholisch-im-broeltal.de/artikel/am-ende-der-osterzeit-dankbarkeit-fuer-neue-taufkapelle-in-st-severin.html] [accessed 31 October 2023] narrates and illustrates [photographs by Wolfgang Steimel] the restoration of the baptismal font here by the Kartäuserhof firm of Cologne ["Am Ende der Osterzeit: Dankbarkeit für neue Taufkapelle in St. Severin 08.06.2019 Seit der Osternacht finden die Taufen in Ruppichteroth in der neuen Taufkapelle statt. Der romanische Taufstein aus dem 12. Jahrhundert fristete seit vielen Jahren ein verborgenes Dasein in einer dunklen hinteren Ecke der Pfarrkirche St. Severin und wurde nur selten für seine eigentliche Bestimmung, die Feier einer Taufe, gebraucht. Seit zwei Jahren liefen die Planungen zur Einrichtung einer neuen Taufkapelle im vorderen rechten Bereich der Kirche, um dem kunsthistorisch bedeutsamen Taufstein wieder einen angemessenen Platz und der Feier des Taufsakramentes einen würdigen Ort zu ermöglichen. Die Firma Kartäuserhof in Köln wurde mit der Restaurierung beauftragt, nach ausführlichen Beratungen und Verhandlungen mit den zuständigen Stellen und Kommissionen des Erzbistums Köln konnte die eingehende Restaurierung des Taufsteins dort erfolgen. Die Messdiener von Ruppichteroth haben durch ihren Spendenlauf im vergangenen Jahr dazu beigetragen, dass die nicht geringen Kosten des Projekts gestemmt werden konnten. Nach wochenlanger Bearbeitung in der Kölner Werkstatt wurde das Taufbecken nun wieder nach Ruppichteroth zurückgebracht und fachmännisch an seinem neuen Platz installiert. Viele Stunden handwerklicher und restauratorischer Arbeit stecken im Endergebnis, das sich sehen lassen kann [...] In der Osternacht konnte Pfarrer Heinzen dann mit großer Freude den Taufstein einsegnen und seiner alten und neuen Bestimmung übergeben. So konnte bereits in der Osternachtsfeier das erste Kind in der neuen Taufkapelle getauft werden, weitere sind ihm während der Osterzeit bereits nachgefolgt. Somit bereitet es allen Beteiligten nun noch mehr Freude, Große und Kleine durch die Feier der Taufe in die Kirche aufzunehmen"].
