The baptismal font in this church is noted and illustrated by Dirk Höhne in Förderverein Chorturmkirche Sylbitz e.V. [http://www.chorturmkirche-sylbitz.de/kirchgesch_e.php] [accessed 20 October 2023]: "The chalice-shaped font is standing in the nave. It is impressively large, since the pre-reformatory baptism ceremony regarded the complete emersion of the child. The basin has been filled in in later times and covered with a shallow metal dish. Although the font does not date back to the construction date of the church at about 1200 AD, it has probably been installed shortly after, i.e. about 50 years later." The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorturmkirche_(Sylbitz)] [accessed 20 October 2023] reports a chalice-shaped baptismal font of the early-13th century in the nave ["Im Kirchenschiff befindet sich ein kelchförmiger Taufstein aus der 1. Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts."] The entry for this church in Wettiner Weg [https://wettiner-weg.de/kirche-in-stumsdorf-2/] [accessed 20 October 2023] reports a sandstone font of the 13th century. in it.
