Hélène Fatoux' Histoire d'eau en Seine-et-Marne (Kervignac, 1988, t.II) [https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k33349363/f11.item] [accessed 17 October 2023] shows an illustration of a late basin with a cover [cf. ImagesArea] and a caption identifying it as the "Cuve baptismale du XIIe siècle à Dormelles, canton de Moret-sur-Loing"; the font is certainly not a 12th-century object and does not match the one shown in the source below. A 2013 YouTube video Visite de l'église Saint-Martin de Dormelles [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vqvfnRiGvU] [accessed 18 October 2023] shows the interior and the baptismal font of this church: the present font is made up of an oval basin made of veined marble mounted on a modern pedestal base of stone; the original basin block is moulded on the outside, the inner basin being oval as well. The basin has a flat plain cover with a locking bar across the narrow sides.
