Vault-de-Lugny No. 1

The entry for this church in the French Wikipedia [https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Église_Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre_de_Vault-de-Lugny] [accessed 12 October 2023] notes a baptismal font very likely to have originated in the previous church ["la chapelle des Rolley, dans la nef de gauche qui abrite une cuve baptismale vraisemblablement originaire de l'église antérieure (XVe siècle)"]. The baptismal font, like the cognate fonts noted below, is a roughly hemispherical basin with protrusions set at 90-degree angles of the upper rim, raised on a short polygonal stem and an octagonal-to-square lower base. The wooden cover is round, plain and flat; appears old and damaged. The article 'Le mystère des fonts baptismaux élucidé' by Michèle Thiry in the 1 September 2012 edition of L'Yone Républicaine [https://www.lyonne.fr/saint-germain-des-champs-89630/actualites/le-mystere-des-fonts-baptismaux-elucide_1255892/] [accessed 11 October 2013] states that the font in Saint-Germain-des-Champs is similar to those in Pontaubert and Vault-de-Lugny. Selon lui, les fonts datent du XII e siècle », s'enthousiasme Michel Millet"; the same person gives the cognate fonts at the two localities mentioned in the previous article: "Seules deux autres communes, Pontaubert et Vault-de-Lugny possèdent de tels fonts baptismaux."
