Church Notes: present church 1895-1899; the church was originally a chapel-of-ease to Canac [cf. https://www.pop.culture.gouv.fr/notice/merimee/PA00093986 [accessed 10 October 2023] ["Autrefois, Canac était le centre d'une paroisse qui englobait celle de Campagnac"]; later it became the parish church while Canac took the subsidary role
The 2 March 2022 edition of Centre Presse (Aveyron) [https://www.centrepresseaveyron.fr/2022/03/02/les-fonts-baptismaux-restaures-ont-retrouve-la-chapelle-du-rosaire-10144606.php] [accessed 10 October 2023] reports the restoration and reinstallation in this church, in the Chapelle du Rosaire, of the basin of the baptismal font of the Romanesque church here demolished in 1895; the article further notes that an old column has been used as base, perhaps a piece the original function of which was precisely that; the font has been secured to a wall of the chapel with an iron hook. The same source [cf. supra] that an old holy-water stoup, also originally from the demolished medieval church, abandoned on the ground bear the sacristy, has also been installed in the Chapelle du Rosaire, near the font.
HOWEVER: an entry by the the Association "Living in Campagnac and its Hamlets" [https://becausse.com/en-us/blogs/campagnac/eglise-canac] [accessed 10 October 2023] states: "The Priory of Canac then becomes the matrix of the parish and remains its seat until the 16th century, the church of Campagnac having neither cemetery nor baptismal font", thereby inferring that the font newly instaled in Campagnac is either 16th-century or later, or that it belonged elsewhere originally. [NB: the entry for this church in Tourisme Occitanie [https://www.tourisme-occitanie.com/fr/fiche/patrimoine-culturel/eglise-de-campagnac-campagnac_TFOTFO194192960538/] [accessed 10 October 2023] reads: "L’église, de style roman, possède des parties datant du IXème siècle", but it does not specify what those parts are].
