Font Notes:
The entry for this church in the Kirchgemeinde Reichenberg [https://www.kirche-reichenberg.de/gebäude/kirche-reichenberg/] [accessed 27 September 2023] reports two baptismal fonts in this church, the later of which is, like the pulpit, of 1620. This font consists of a round basin, almost hemispherical in shape decorated with rounded cartouche-like areas conraining Biblical scenes, one of which shows Noah's ark in the Deluge; between the scenes are cherub heads; the base is a square pedestal of baluster shape with an architectural element at the top held-up by a standing putto on one of the sides, the other decorated with a large garland; the whole font is painted and gilded [NB: there probably is an inscription with the 1620 date somewhere on the font]. The wooden cover is round, decorated with flat ribs all around, painted and gilded as the font itself; it has a finial that resembles a baptismal font or earlier design. [cf. BSI entry for Reichenberg bei Dresden No. 1 for the Romanesque font in this church]
