Font Notes:
The present font here is noted and illustrated in Jana's Formerly, It Was a Backyard for Chickens and Pigs; Today, the Second Most Important Church in Czechia, 2022 [https://www.ourbeautifulprague.com/formerly-it-was-a-backyard-for-chickens-and-pigs-today-the-second-most-important-church-in-czechia/] [accessed 24 September 2023]: a metal font made of tin in 1414, the neo-Gothic cover in 1846. The basin, as indicated above, very much resembling an inverted bell, the sides decorated with cinquefoil arches below which are windows with figures in them, probably apostles, saints, etc.; it bears a running inscription below the upper rim; the base consisting on three animal legs with an upper end a bust of a bearded man; the legs are now reinforced with ties, and the whole stands on a marble plinth. The font cover is round, of low-dome shape, with a tall finial of Christ holding a processional cross; it too has an inscription on it. The font is of a design not uncommon in the area, and there are other such fonts in Poland as well [e.g.: Gdansk Katarzyny].
