Font Notes:
The entry for this church in Marktgemeinde Rappottenstein [https://www.rappottenstein.gv.at/Pfarrkirche_Rappottenstein_3] [accessed 13 September 2023] notes two fonts in it, located in the north aisle: one with a 14-sided basin, the other, cup-shaped and modern, of 1859 ["Links davon der vierzehneckige Taufstein rechts der kelchförmige aus dem Jahre 1859."] [source: OSR Karl Zeisler aus "Wanderführer der Marktgemeinde Rappottenstein"] [NB: the 14-sided shape ["tetradecagonal"] was confirmed by an e-mail of 28 September 2023 by Silvia Gundacker, Pfarrsekretärin, Pfarre Rappottenstein]. [NB: such a polygonal font, whether 14- or 12-sided is likely to belong to the mid-15th century re-building of the church, or even later -- we have no information on the font of the mid-13th century church here]. The present font cover is round, flat and plain, but the metal anchoring staples indicate there was an earlier cover in use.
