The Wikipedia entry for this church [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pfarrkirche_Amstetten-St._Stephan] [accessed 5 September 2023] notes a dodecagonal baptismal font of the 15th century in the baptistery ["Die Taufkapelle beherbergt einen zwölfseitigen Taufstein, der aus dem 15. Jahrhundert stammt"] [NB: Wikipedia entry gives Die Kunstdenkmäler Österreichs. Dehio Niederösterreich südlich der Donau 2003. Amstetten, Sakralbauten, Stadtpfarrkirche hl. Stephanus, S. 38–40 as source]. The font is dodecagonal from top to bottom, with slightly convex sides and moulded, somewhat similar to the font at Drosendorf, in the same area; a metal basin insert is in use. The tall and complex wooden rim-buffet type font cover bears multiple scenes, figures and symbols; it was made in 1889 by the workshop of Josef Kepplinger: "Dessen neugotischer Aufbau wurde 1892 ebenfalls von Josef Kepplinger geschaffen, trägt eine Darstellung des Sonntagberger Gnadenstuhls, der heiligen Dreifaltigkeit. Die Halbreliefs zeigen die biblischen Szenen der innen dargestellten Taufe Jesu sowie der Arche Noah und der Errettung am Schilfmeer, die außen angebracht sind. Die Bemalungen auf der Innenseite der Aufsatzflügel stammen von Ludwig Hase aus Linz und stellen zwei biblische Taufen dar".
