Walther Zimmermann's Romanische Taufsteine am Niederrhein [annalen-1954-jg22.pdf] [accessed 4 September 2023] notes a group of baptismal fonts in the area that he labels "Rheinischer Typ des von Säulchen umstellten Kessels" of which type he gives the font at Sieglar as a sample; that font is very much of the same design as the one at Drolshagen; they are listed in a section of Zimmermann's paper under heading "Rheinische Gruppe aus Trachyt und Basaltlava". Listed in Drake (2009) as a font in the "@d2 C. Rhineland -- @d3 4. Suspended fonts" category; many other such fonts listed there as well [NB: this type of 'suspended' font is similar to those in the Bodmin group in the UK. The Wikipedia entry for this church [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Johannes_vor_dem_Lateinischen_Tore_(Sieglar)] [accessed 4 September 2023] describes the 13th-century font in it ["Bedeutendstes Ausstattungsstück der Kirche ist der romanische Taufstein aus Trachyt vom Anfang des 13. Jahrhunderts mit halbkugelförmigem Becken mit Rundbogenfries und reich ornamentiertem Blattwerkrand, getragen von Ecksäulchen.]
