The entry for this church in KuLaDig [https://www.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/KLD-343610] [accessed 30 August 2023] informs that during the 1957-1960 major restoration works the remains of an octagonal baptismal font ["Taufanlage"] from the 8th century were discovered inside the church and the remains of ceiling paintings from the 13th century in the chancel ["Von 1957 bis 1960 wurden an dem Gebäude umfangreiche Restaurierungen durchgeführt [...] Bei diesen Arbeiten wurde im Innenraum der Kirche die Überreste einer achteckigen Taufanlage aus dem 8. Jahrhundert und im Chor die Reste von Deckenmalereien aus dem 13. Jahrhundert entdeckt."] The entry for this church in the Stadt Übach-Palenberg [https://www.uebach-palenberg.de/Stadt-Leben/Kunst-und-Kultur-/Interessantes-Sehenswertes/index.php?La=1&object=tx,3345.119.1&kat=&kuo=2&sub=0&NavID=3345.26&La=1] [accessed 30 August 2023] mentions the discovery of remains of a font, as in the source above, described as an octagonal vessel made up of vertical wooden planks driven into the ground to a height of about 20 cm, and held fast by a metal cinch; the vessel is claimed to have been used as a baptismal font ["Das Achteck bestand aus stabilen Balkenbrettern, die mindestens 20 cm in eine Grube eingelassen waren und von einem stabilen Eisenband zusammengehalten wurden."] [NB: we have no information on whether the surviving remains exist now, or its whereabouts] [cf.
