The description of the old baptismal font originally from the earlier Ströja kyrka here is given in Anita Liepe's Tavlorna i kyrkan (Jönköpings läns museum, 2013: 213-215) and quoted in the entry for this church in Wikipedia [https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahekyrkan] [accessed 15 August 2023]; it describes the font in Brahekyrkan as medieval, made of sandstone ca. 1160; it consists of a square basin raised on a round pedestal base and a square lower base ["den medeltida dopfunten i sandsten från Ströja kyrka daterad till 1160-talet. Den har en fyrsidig cuppa med släta sidofält som bär upp av en pelare med repstav som vilar på en fyrsidig fot."] Not found in the SHM database. Mattias Sörensen's Brahekyrkan Visingsö församling i Jönköpings kommun, Jönköpings län, Växjö stift [https://jonkopingslansmuseum.se/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Brahekyrkan.pdf] [accessed 15 August 2023] illustrates the font that was recovered from Ströja kyrka was recovered and eventually moved to the new church. Dated 1100-1199 in the Riksantikvarieämbetet entry [https://bebyggelseregistret.raa.se/bbr2/byggnad/visaHistorik.raa?page=historik&visaHistorik=true&byggnadId=21400000442850] [accessed 15 August 2023]. The basin is capital shaped, with well-defined semi-circles on the the sides; the round pedestal base has two rope mouldings around it; the lower base is round-to-square, with a pair of large semi-circles on each side. No cover present.
