Font Notes:
A 22 March 2010 article 'Freckleben: Früher hatte der Ort zwei Kirchen' in the Mittleldeutsche Zeiting [https://www.mz.de/lokal/aschersleben/freckleben-fruher-hatte-der-ort-zwei-kirchen-2217228] [accessed 9 August 2023] informs of two fonts in this church: of a Romanesque baptismal font found [in 2010] during the construction of the sewage pipe in Arnstedter Straße. This basin had a diameter of 72 cm., a base diameter of 48 cm. and was 54 cm in height; it was probably the first baptismal font in the first chapel here, and was discarded after the [ca. 1594] extension of St. Stephen's Church. The same source described the current baptismal font in use in the church: it is made of sandstone, resting on a pedestal base, and bears the inscription identifying the donors of the font and the date of the donation, 1595, during the incumbency of pastor M. Jeremiae Ursini ["Beim Bau der Abwasserleitung in der Arnstedter Straße wurde ein romanischer Taufstein gefunden. Pfarrhere Alhier""]
