The entry for this church in Architektur-Blicklight [https://www.architektur-blicklicht.de/kirchen/schenkenberg-kirche-delitzsch-nordsachsen/] [accessed 3 August 2023] notes a baptismal font of sandstone in this church. The font consists of a square basin with chamfered corners that make it octagonal; raised on a moulded pedestal base, also square, that be a later replacement; the basin has an inscription and a ball-in-socket pattern below the upper rim; the basin sides are decorated with cherubs and at least one coat of arms labelled 'Alexander von Miltitz'; around the lower side of the basin is an inscription with the well-known "Lasset die Kindlein zu mir [...]" gospel phrase. No cover proper but a wooden frame to support the baptismal dish in use. The person named in the inscription with the coat of arms could be Alexander von Miltitz, auf Schenckenberg, Oberau und Berendorff (1578-1635), as identified in GENI [https://www.geni.com/people/Alexander-von-Miltitz-auf-Schenckenberg-Oberau-und-Berendorff/6000000028065396974] [accessed 3 August 2023]; he may well be the donor of the font, donated by him before his death, or in his honour thereafter. The design of the arms on the font is very close to that found in Johann Siebmacher's New Wappenbuch (1605: 155) and to another representation of it in a 1660 plaque [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:20021026980NR_Batzdorf_Totenhäuschen.jpg] [accessed 3 August 2023]; other representations of the Miltitz' family arms are much more stylised, as seen for instance in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Miltitz-Wappen.png [accessed 3 August 2023]
