Noted and illustrated in Stiftung KIBA [https://www.stiftung-kiba.de/kirchen/dorfkirche-laue] [accessed 2 August 2023]: "eine farbig gefasste Sandsteintaufe von 1591". The Wikipedia entry for Laue [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laue] [accessed 2 August 2023] notes a sandstone font of 1591 in front of the altar of this church ["Vor dem einfachen Altar [...] stecht ein Sandsteintaufbecken aus dem Jahre 1591."] The entry for this church in the Kirchenkreis Torgau-Delitzsch / EKM [https://www.kirche-in-nordsachsen.de/index.php/gemeindeleben/foerdervereine/laue] [accessed 2 August 2023] mentions a provisional [i.e., replacement] stem/pedestal made of brick for the otherwise sandstone font ["eine Sandsteintaufe von 1591, Fuß und Kuppa aus sandstein, der Schaft aus Backstein provisorisch nachgemauert."] The basin is roughly octagonal [or square with chamferred corners, as alternate sides are wider] basin with Biblical quotations [Mark, Matthew] on the wider sides, some of the narrower sides bearing cherub heads, but at least one decorated with a coat of arms and an inscription "MARTA SCHAD / RITZN / GEBOREN SPIGLIN]; the brick short stem [cf. supra] and the lower base are both square.
