Die Kirche von Lauenen im Saanerland, in the Die Berner Woche, 33 (1943), Heft 46 [Die Kirche von Lauenen im Saanerland [https://doi.org/10.5169/seals-649310] [accessed 31 July 2023] reports a stone font of the late-Gothic period, as old as the church ["Der spätgotische Taufstein ist wohl so alt wie die Kircke."] The Kirchenvisite. Die Kirchengebäude im Gebiet der Reformierten Kirchen Bern-Jura-Solothurn entry for this church [https://kirchenvisite.ch/kirche/149-lauenen-kirche-lauenen] [accessed 31 July 2023] illustrates the font in it and dates it to the 18th century ["Zur Innenausstattung gehören ein Netzrippentaufstein aus dem 18. Jahrhundert"], but the octagonal font looks very much a 15th- or 16th-century vessel decorated with a large reticular pattern, as noted above. There is now a metal insert inside the basin, one that has a partition to created two wells inside. Modern cover.
