The Ev. luth. Kirchengemeinde Heppens [https://www.heppenser-kirche.de/kirche/sturmflutkirche/taufstein/] [accessed 25 July 2023] notes and illustrates the 13th-century baptismal font in this church, a bucket-shaped of sandstone decorated with a vine below the rim, and a row of round arch-heads below; the old stone font is used in conjunction with a metal baptismal dish ["Der romanische Taufstein ist das älteste Stück in der Kirche und stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. The entry for this church in the Wilhelms Haven site [https://www.wilhelmshaven.de/Tourismus/Sehenswuerdigkeiten/13371-Heppenser-Kirche.html] [accessed 25 July 2023] reports a baptismal font of the early 13th century in it ["der Taufstein aus den Anfängen des 13. Jahrhunderts"]. The font consists of a bucket-shaped basin wirh the decorated noted above, raised on a round moulded stem and a round-to-square lower base wih leaves at the four corners. There is no cover present but the upper end of the basin is grooved to take one.
