The entry for this church in Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evangelische_Kirche_Nieder-Weisel] [accessed 23 July 2023] [after Klar: Geschichte des Dorfes Nieder-Weisel in der Wetterau. 1953, S. 176] describes an oval and goblet-shaped font that was acquired from a farmer who had been using it as cattle trough; it may date from the early-17th century and, like the other font, it has been in the church since 1890; it is decorated with bands crossing in oval fields bearing the Hebrew Tetragrammaton on the long sides and the letters "G.W.M.E." and "O.B." on the short sides; on the long sides is an inscription in Gothic lettering ["Der zweite, achtseitige, mittelalterliche Taufstein wurde 1890 dem Johanniterorden geschenkt und steht seitdem in der Komturkirche. Die Johanniter erwarben daraufhin einen ovalen, pokalförmigen Taufstein von einem Bauern Schimpf, der ihn als Viehtränke genutzt hatte, und stifteten ihn der Kirchengemeinde. Der Stein unbekannter Herkunft stammt möglicherweise aus der ersten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts. und steht seit 1980 in der Kirche. Er ist außen mit Bändern verziert, die sich in ovalen Feldern kreuzen, die an den Langseiten das hebräische Tetragrammaton und an den Kurzseiten die Buchstaben „G.W.M.E.“ und „O.B.“ tragen. Darüber und darunter ist in gotischen Buchstaben eine Inschrift zu lesen: „Wenn dieser Krug voll thränen schwer, gefüllet aus dem Herzen wär, So hülfs doch nicht, es muß geschehn, was Gott anordnet und versehn. Die schön gezierten Blümelein soll’n uns hie ein Gleichnis sein. Die wachsen soll’ wiederum aufgehn. O Gott, laß uns zur Rechten stehn.“] The oval font shows evidence of having had a fitted cover, and has drilled holes in the upper rim from several anchoring spots in it; no cover present now. [cf.
