Described and illustrated in the Ludwig-Münstermann-Gesellschaft e.V. [https://www.ludwig-muenstermann.de/werke/kirchen/eckwarden] [accessed 20 July 2023] as a baptismal font made between 1616 and 1623 by Ludwig Münstermann re-using a 13th-century sandstone basin. The entry for this church in Der Reiserführer für die Hosentasche [https://www.world-qr.com/inhalte/new/qr-fuehrer/de/niedersachsen/wesermarsch/ortsfuehrer/gemeindefuehrer_butjadingen/butjadingen_st_lamberti_kirche?lat=0&lng=0] [accessed 20 July 2023] reports a font that was discovered in mud flats in 1550, stored in an attic until restored by Ludwig Münstermann it in 1616 ["Der Taufstein wurde 1616 von Ludwig Müstermann restauriert. Er war 1550 im Watt gefunden worden und wurde 100 Jahre lang auf einem Dachboden deponiert."] The Wikipedia entry for this church [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Lamberti_(Eckwarden)] [accessed 20 July 2023] notes a baptismal font in this church; it is made of coloured sandstone between 1616 and 1623 ["Zur Kirchenausstattung gehören ein farbig gefasstes Taufbecken aus Sandstein mit Beschlagwerkdekor (zwischen 1616 und 1623)"]. The font consists of a hexagonal basin decorated with brightly painted cartouches of different shapes and sizes; hexagonal ring moulding with an incised inscription; hexagonal baluster-type pedestal base, also painted; carved octagonal lower base [which may be the fragment of a medieval portion that Münstermann used [cf. supra]
