Described and illustrated in the Ludwig-Münstermann-Gesellschaft e.V. [https://www.ludwig-muenstermann.de/werke/kirchen/edewecht] [accessed 20 July 2023] as a wooden (oak) baptismal font and cover made in 1656 and attributed to Tönnies Mahler "Taufbecken. 1656. Zuschreibung an Tönnies Mahler". The wooden font consists of an hexagonal basin with a round underbowl, on a dodecagonal stem and a hexagonal lower base; the sides of the basin are decorated with cherub heads; the underbowl has lion(?) heads; the stem has human demi-figures alternating with geometrical patterns on the side; the lower base is moulded and has turned pivots at the corners. The wooden font cover has three levels of hexagonal pill-boxes decreasing in size towards the top, the sides moulded and patterned; the lower level has an inscription all around; the top section has six scroll ribs around a central pivot, the finial a turned pivot. The entry for this church in Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St.-Nikolai-Kirche_(Edewecht)] [accessed 20 July 2023] notes the font as probably by Master Tönnies Mahler, and gives the tet of the font on its cover ["Die Taufe stammt wahrscheinlich auch von Meister Tönnies Mahler.
