Described and illustrated in the Ludwig-Münstermann-Gesellschaft e.V. [https://www.ludwig-muenstermann.de/werke/kirchen/fedderwarden] [accessed 20 July 2023] as an hexagonal font made of oak in 1648 and attributed to Onno Dierksen, somewhat similar to the font at Bockhorn; painted over in 1750; it was donated by count Anton Günther von Oldenburg; the original painting recovered in 2007 ["Taufbecken mit Deckel. 1648. Stifter: Graf Anton Günther von Oldenburg (1583 – 1667). Material: Eichenholz. Zuschreibung an Onno Dierksen. The wooden (oak) font consists of an hexagonal basin with a rounded underbowl; the sides are covered in tracery, symbols and has some putto or angel heads in some of the frames; the base is a statue of a seated Moses holding the tablets of the Law, the basin rests on hist head; hexagonal moulded lower base. The wooden cover is a complex affair: the lower section is almost a mirror image of the font basin and has human busts or enblems carved on the curved sides; the next section up is a set of narrow scroll ribs around a hexagonal vertical pivot, while the next section up is similar but with wider curging ribs; the finial has a ball with a dove sitting atop; the chain from the pulley hooks onto the dove.
