Described and illustrated in Ludwig-Münstermann-Gesellschaft e.V. [https://www.ludwig-muenstermann.de/werke/kirchen/golzwarden] [accessed 19 July 2023] as a font attributed to Ludwig Münstermann, made of sandstone in 1663 and comparable to the one at Rodenkirchen, which was probably created a little earlier; the four female Virtues (Fides, Veritas, Religio and Pietas) alternate with coats of arms of the donors ["Das Taufbecken in Golzwarden ist formal und stilistisch dem wohl kurz zuvor geschaffenen Werk für Rodenkirchen unmittelbar vergleichbar. The same source [cf. supra] mentions a lost wooden cover that belonged to it. The entry for this church in the Tourismus-Service Butjadingen GmbH & Co. [https://www.butjadingen.de/erleben-entdecken/poi/st-lamberti-kirche] [accessed 19 July 2023] states that the present font was reworked by from an old Romanesque basin from a nearby location by Ludwig Münstermann ["Für den in heutiger Form entstandene Taufstein verwendete der Bildhauer Ludwig Münstermann 1616 ein umgedrehtes älteres romanisches Taufbecken, dass vermutlich aus einer im Jadebusen untergegangenen Kirche stammte."] The entry for this church in Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St.-Bartholomäus-Kirche_(Golzwarden)] [accessed 19 July 2023] appears to state that the present font is a re-working of the old Romanesque font by Ludwig Münstermann in 1663 [cf. supra], who incorporated reliefs of the virtues Pietas (piety), Fides (faith), Veritas (truth) and Religio (worship), as well as four coats of arms or house marks with the names of the donors, two pastors and two church jurists ["1633 von Ludwig Münstermann umgearbeitet und mit Reliefs der Tugenden Pietas (Frömmigkeit), Fides (Glaube), Veritas (Wahrheit) und Religio (Gottesdienst) versehen. [NB: or was it meant the this font replaced the earlier medieval font here?]
