The entry for this church in the Wetzlar web site [https://www.wetzlar.de/leben-in-wetzlar/stadtportraet/stadtteile/hermannstein.php] [accessed 19 July 2023] notes a late-Gothic baptismal font with an octagonal basin, dating probably to the date of the present church [i.e., the 1490s] ["der spätgotische Taufstein mit seiner achteckigen Pokalform stammen aus der Anfangszeit der Kirche"]. The entry for this church in the Kulturdenkmäler in Hessen [https://denkxweb.denkmalpflege-hessen.de/25348/] [accessed 19 July 2023] describes a font from the construction period of the church ["Zur mittelalterlichen Ausstattung gehört der achteckige Taufstein aus der Bauzeit der Kirche mit Blendmaßwerk und Kruzifix."] The Wikipedia entry for this church [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paulskirche_(Hermannstein)] [accessed 19 July 2023] reports a baptismal font of red sandstone that had been relegated to the church garden until 1951, when it was restored to its function inside the church and provided with a new baptismal dish and utensils in 1974 ["ein Taufbecken aus rotem Sandstein [...] Ebenfalls aus mittelalterlicher Zeit ist der Taufstein erhalten, der eine achteckige Pokalform mit Blendmaßwerk aus Nonnenköpfen hat. In1951 wurde der Taufstein wieder in die Kirche zurückgebracht. Taufschüssel und -kanne wurden 1974 neu angefertigt." The font consists of an octagonal basin with a pattern of trefoiled arches or windows around the sides; on an also octagonal base; one of the arch-heads appears to have an inscription consisting of three capital letters [LOK? / LOR?]. No cover present.
