The old damaged baptismal font of this church is illustrated in a 30 November 2018 article by Sylvia Fahrland, Evangelische Kirche: Historisches Kleinod in Aistaig soll vor Verfall gerettet werden / Spendenaufruf gestartet, in the Schwarzwälder Bote [https://www.schwarzwaelder-bote.de/gallery.oberndorf-a-n-gallus-taufstein-wartet-auf-seine-rettung.c7e5f817-dc9f-4ad5-9139-93de93b2fb9d.html/id/25ac9cda-6143-43a0-8c6f-7c45bdf19482] [accessed 12 July 2023]; the entry mentions the old font, as well as the addition of a new smaller font in 1953; the old font has been identified as being a composite object: a 15th-16th century basin on a later base. The article further notes that funds were being sought for the restoration of the old font and its future protection. The old font consists of an octagonal basin with trefoiled patterns on its outer sides, raised on a square moulded base [cf. supra]; the upper rim of the basin, considerable parts of which show considerable damage, appears to have evidence of drilled holes for the hardware for anchoring a cover; the damage may have been caused by the old metal anchorings, as they split the stone. The old font was fully restored and is now [2023] displayed in the churchyard with a protective glass cover.
