Church Notes: original Romanesque church started 1142 but not consecrated until 1243; burned down several times ca. 1428; re-built 1436-1446; renovated 1649-1683; the monastery was dissolved and its church became parochial in 1784; restored 1950s and 1997-2001
The present baptismal font in this church was probably introduced in the Baroque renovations made to the monastery church between 1649 and 1683; it consists of a shallow rounded [oval?] basin decorated with a single moulding and scotia on the upper sides, raised on a round pedestal colum of the baluster type, and a tiny square lower base or plinth. Low-dome metal cover with know finial.
