Additional Comments: altered font (the one from the Romanesque church here is now semi-buried at ground level)
Font Notes:
The former basin of the medieval font here has been altered in a most curious manner: the basin is now semi-buried in the ground inside the church, the upper rim now level with the flooring; a low-dome shaped metal cover has been anchored to the rim at the back; a metal railing has been installed around the font. The basin appears to be roughly-hemispheric in shape; the inner well is also hemispherical and has a centre drain hole now plugged up; no lining present. [NB: we have no information on the intended use of a basin installed in such a manner; a colleague wondered if the church was using it in the manner of the old baptisteries]. The present baptismal font is modern and stands next to the old one.
