Font Notes:
A Romanesque baptismal font of the mid-12th century made of sandstone and originating from Dodenau is reported in the Kreisheimatmuseum, Kloster St. Georgenberg. The object is tub-shaped, decorated with a round moulding at the upper rim of the basin, and a blind arcade of round arches around the mid and lower basin sides; there is much damage to the upper basin area, with a significant part of it missing. The label in the museum [cf. ImagesArea] gives the origin of the font as Dodenau [cf. BSI entry for Dodenau No. 2 for the present 17th-century font in that church].
