Church Notes: originally a Celtic sanctuary in Roman times; three churches built simultaneously early-6thC [ca. 500-510]; ruined around 600 AD; medieval pilgrimage church Hemma und Dorothea Kirche built 1498-1519 with materials from the earlier churches;
Quadrangular above-ground piscina of reactangular shape inside and out; one side has descending stairs; at the outer corners are pillars [they probably supported a roof originally]. The perimeter of the baptistery itself is octagonal, and only a short wall remains now.
