Church Notes: present building of 1772 on the site of an earlier [Romanesque, Gothic] church
Baptismal font noted in the Gemeinde Pillig web site [http://www.gemeinde-pillig.de/unser dorf.htm] [accessed 1 May 2023]: "1603 Taufbecken in der St. Firminuskirche". The stone font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin inscribed below the rim with the date 1603, the sides and underbowl decorated with a pattern on concave ribs framed in round arches, a rope moulding below; round stem; the lower base has a roll moulding atop then becomes square, one of the sides decorated with an emblem or coat of arms. Moulded metal font cover with cross finial.
