A communication to BSI from Pol herman (e-mail of 23 September 2022) notes: "In 20th of December 1314, the bishop of Utrecht allowed to build a chapel on this location, because the road to the Sint Pieterskerk at Leiden was impassable during the winter. He expressly allowed the installation of a baptismal font. The church interiors were completely destroyed during the iconoclastic fury of August 1566. The baptismal font did not survive."
