The entry for this church in Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorfkirche_Kirch_Kogel] [accessed 14 April 2023] notes and illustrates a baptismal font of stone in this church: "Das älteste Ausstattungsstück in der Kirche ist die seit 1994[24] wieder rechts im Altarraum stehende rötliche Granitfünte aus der Zeit vor 1160. Sie stand lange auf dem Kirchhof südlich der Vorhalle am Chor, bis sie am 18. Oktober 1979 während eines Sturmes von der umgestürzten Linde getroffen wurde. Die Rotspuren unter der Oberkante und die Befestigungslöcher für eine Abdeckhaube sind ein Hinweis auf das Alter. Ihre Form ähnelt der des Taufsteins in der Friedländer Kirche. Hier verjüngt sich der Zylinder nach oben, ihre Höhe beträgt 104 cm, die Breite 94 cm, die Taufschale ist 72 cm breit und 29 cm tief. Die Fünte wird wieder für Taufen genutzt." The font is located inside the chancel, by the south pillar of the chancel arch; no cover present on this font -- there is baptismal font of wood, obviously of a much later date, at the southeast corner of the chancel, to the right of the altar; the wooden font has a wooden cover].
