Font Notes:
The discovery and restoration of this font is noted and illustrated in the 27 January 2017 edition of STEIN [https://www.stein-magazin.de/taufstein-aus-dem-mittelalter-restaurierung-kalkstein/] [accessed 14 April 2023]; the fragments of the limestone font made in the mid-13th century were discovered in the park of a nearby manor house ca. 1930; the restoration was undertaken in 2015 and the restored font is now back in the church. Baptismal font of the 'paradisenfunten' type imported from Gotland. The medieval font was found broken up, restored and returned to the church [cf. supra]. The font is of the usual design, a quatrefoiled basin raised on a round pedestal base, the lower base also quatrefoiled in shape. No cover present. The church has another later font in place, located by the left [north] side of the chancel arch.
