Described and illustrated in the parish site Evangelische Kirchgemeinde Philippsthal [https://schlosskirche-philippsthal.de/unsere-kirche/] [accessed 31 October 2023] as a Gothic (13th-century?) baptismal font consisting of a round roughly hemispherical basin decorated with trefoils inscribed in circles, and one shield inscribed in a circle on its side said to be the stonemason's arms; the pedestal base is hexa with tracery on its sides; moulded lower base of the same shape; it stood outside the church for a long time re-purposed as planter ["Ein gotischer Taufstein aus rotem Sandstein auf sechseckigem Fuß und einer darauf sitzenden Schale mit Kreisen verziert, befindet sich links neben dem Altar. Jh.
